Katy Perry Does it again! Katy Perry‘s ‘Teenage Dream’ is breaking records!
Katy Perry‘s ‘Teenage Dream’ continues to break records and top the charts. This year has turned out to be a huge success for Katy Perry with her Teenage Dream album achieving record success. According to Billboard, the album is the first in the 15-year history of Adult Pop Songs chart to produce four No. 1 singles.
Katy Perry’s #1 hits have been:
“California Gurls” (featuring Snoop Dogg)
“Teenage Dream”
From the Billboard 200 album chart dated Sept. 11, 2010, it has sold over 1.7 million copies.
Perry’s latest single from the album is ‘Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.),’ which comes on the heels of the last #1 hits ‘California Gurls,’ ‘Teenage Dream’ and ‘Firework.’ The only single that didn’t make it to No. 1 on this chart was ‘E.T.,’ which was lodged at No. 2 for four weeks and was unable to pass Adele‘s ‘Rolling in the Deep.’
Michael Jackson achieved the honor from his album “Bad” over nine months and two weeks. Perry’s five toppers from “Dream” have spanned one year, two months and one week, dating to the first week at No. 1 for “Gurls” on the Hot 100 dated June 19, 2010. Katy Perry’s newest Hot 100 is dated Aug. 27, 2011.
Michael Jackson may have been the quickest to earn this honor, but Katy Perry has spent more time on the Hot 100. Michael Jackson’s five No. 1s from “Bad” totaled a combined seven weeks in charge. With the first week on top for “Friday,” Perry is up to 18 total weeks at No. 1 with her No. 1s from “Dream.”
Katy Perry has risen to success quickly with her catchy lyrics, great song writing ability, sexy style, and incredible uniqueness!
Teenage Dream is another great album in the Katy Perry discography.
